Wayne Davis Rocks Second Life

I was lucky enough to catch a Wayne Davis Rocks live music show at Solarwinds in SL tonight.  WOW, fantastic show!  A lot of the  music he played was some awesome classic rock with very impressive guitar playing and singing, covers and originals.  He wasn't even done with one song before I joined the group and subscribed and that says a LOT since I keep my groups full and rarely change them out for something new.  He did a variety of music though and his info. boasts his versatility.  I found this 2013 SL interview : http://www.slenquirer.com/2013/08/a-rock-star-in-sl-and-rl-meet-wayne.html.   Then I found a RL video with the help of his RL friend Candy Cane here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfOuQJ23COU.  There are quite a few RL videos there.  In SL prior to seeing this I had to ask Candy cane if  he was using tracks or playing his own guitar while singing, since no one I asked around me was sure, and she said it's really him playing his guitar.  She told me he was gone from SL for two years while on tour with David Allen Coe then came back to SL in October.  During the show he said it was his band. My friend Nick said he used to hear him in SL regularly.  He makes a great show and his true entertainer talents are obvious.  I have no clue how I missed this before tonight.  Apparently everyone else knew and he seemed to know many there.  And there were many there, like around 70 avs.   I'm his newest fangirl!

Bloop, LEA12 by Suzen JueL

LEA12, Bloop, visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA12/128/128/23
This land grant sim is by Suzen Juel.  JUST WOW! I'm loving this.  This area is FULL of colors, bubbles, and cool stuff to look at.  Near the landing you will find a bubble blower on the ground which you can click to make a bubble and hop in and fly/steer around in the sim.  Some other things in the area are clickable so have fun!  I'm loving this one!! Thanks Suzen.

More information about various dance troupes in SL can be found on Inra Pey's blog, "In A Modem World" by guest writer and photographer, R Crap Mariner here: https://modemworld.me/2018/01/26/now-is-the-time-on-living-in-a-modem-world-when-we-dance/

Performance Dance has been around for a long time, but it seems to be growing with more and improved dance systems, special effects, and interest.  I've blogged many groups and shows over time and was even a member of the It Girlz and Fellaz for a while until my computer at the time decided I needed to retire from that for a while.  Performance dance is not traditional exotic dance, mind you, these are very valid entertainment shows, many of which are suitable for all audiences. I'm usually not a big fan of posting information about things after the fact but in this case, the shows were great and worth talking about plus both groups have ongoing shows so more can be seen at a later date.  Please refer to the above links for more information including the link for The Dance Queens who promote many of the groups via regular notecards and other PR that is super helpful to me to find the dates and locations of events.

***The Luxe Girls***
Saturday I entered SL just in time to change clothes to "circus theme black/white tones" as requested for the Elysion special Le Cirque Revie, circus showcasing the Luxe Girls.  This particular show was offsite and the entire places was landscaped and decorated in such beautiful detail I will refer to the pics I took.  I kept my pics in the sim suggested windlight which was a little dark but when I tried other lights, some of which were very cool, I felt the set lighting seemed fitting and worked well with the many special effects.  The attendance capped out at 100 avatars.  I actually missed the first few dancers but what I did see was beautiful and impressive.  The Luxe Girls shows actually are "adult" rated.  They typically do periodic shows on their home sim Elysion which is an amazing si to explore.  They do have group membership dues there but they have weekly events and keep the sim looking awesome which I find worth it. At this show dancers included:

All the Luxe girls ended with a group finale and some of the dancers were (Yeah I didn't check names until the very end so some spellings might be a bit off and I could have missed some)
Aelva,  Jarla Capalini, Luci Hurricane, Six Digital, Eostri, Exobitionista Nirvana, Aubryanne mohegan, Binx Inkpi, Genie renztoy, Acrylic kitty, ninette secretspy, Syn Zane, (syn beresford)

Big top tents surrounded the main stage where individual dancers performed their shows.  Carausal horses circled the main finale stage area. The tents were themed: Tests, Lust (Six), Carousel, Serendipity, The Sideshow, Twilight Reverie (Eos), The Abyss (Aryanna), Diviner, Cloudburst (Exhi), Pyromancer, Wishing Tree (Bryn),

Thanks to Syn, DJ Little and the amazing Luxe girls of Elysion!! The show was amazing.

*****The Monarchs*****

Right after the above show I dropped into the Monarchs show that was in a theater which is a little more typical of shows, however their sets and special effects were no less magnificent.  SL live singer, AleyKat, was showcased singing the music for the song and participating as a lead dancer so this was a double treat.  She's a fantastic singer and if you want more info. on her and her schedule check her out on the Whispering Sands Live Promotions web site here: http://wslpromo.net/aleykat/

As always if you want to see more pics, click right on a picture which takes you to my Flickr and more pics.  If you like to take in shows and dont have an amazing computer or a huge inventory like me some things take a big to rez and unfortunately sometimes the scenes move on before all is rezzed right.  I have some pics like that and seems right when they'd fully rez I'd miss a pic as the scene moved on.  But its all still amazing.  Enjoy some future shows in SL

Flux Sur Mer

Visit Flux Sur Mer here: https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Flux%20Sur%20Mer/128/138/24/

Flux Sur Mer Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Flux-Sur-Mer-918921801484732/

I've been doing a little more exploring lately and recently enjoyed the beautiful sim of Flux Sur Mer by creator and designer Nic Bour (nicbor resident), along with custom mesh designer Imoken Neox.

Their sim info. states: "Flux Sur Mer is French country side embracing the old charms and the slow rhythms of country life. Surrounded by small quaint shops, flea markets, old cottages and even ‘vide grenier’. She sits on the shores of a deep estuary where the river meets the ocean, surrounded by opulence of trees and nature."

Ironically I googled it and found a blog post from 2015 about it BY ME! LOL.. it has been reworked and looks amazing.  Well worth more visits.  Check it out some time.

The Last Forever

Visit The Last Forever Here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Last%20Forever/128/128/22

I admit I perv'd someones profile for this LM.  I have been slacking on new explores for a while and seem to keep finding myself at the same places I enjoy, so I was happy to find The Last Forever which is new to me, but apparently has been around SL since March 2017.

The sim info. states: "The Last Forever is a new sim/full region inspired by Marfa, TX from the creators of West of The Rain, Oobleck Allagash and Nodnol Jameson (KraftWork), along with the creative team of Kai Mannequin, Brooke Barmy, Rooky Yootz, Triin, Misty and Jack Hanby."

The sim is a lazy small town country explore complete with rolling tumbleweeds, dusty roads, cattle, plenty of old cars, trailer area, and yes, shopping! The Last Forever is actually the recreation of the real life town of Marfa. located in west Texas U.S.A. It is a small ranching town and trendy tourist destination. I Wikki'd it and it boasts some interesting facts for a small town.  This is a nicely detailed sim to relax and explore in and get in a little shopping too.

First of all I was amazed that I didn't recall having been to this venue before, because it's great and I'd have thought I'd have visited at some point since it's been open for 2 years the owner, Carl Wardark, told me.  But then I found several landmarks in my inventory and a few objects.. so maybe I have, and it's changed some or something.  Anyway.. it's a GREAT looking venue.  There are indoor and outdoor staging areas and a cool looking area to explore around the sim.  I took a few pics so you get an idea about it. Anyway .. they are having a huge event this weekend you won't want to miss.

Justin Ashton at Jagged Edge

Tonight was my first experience hearing Justin Ashton (Justindarkside) sing in SL.  Just wow.!  He played piano and sang a string of ballads and was a huge crowd pleaser. His musical talent is clear and he sounded amazing.  He came highly recommended by Toxie Darkmatter another great singer in SL and she wasn't kidding .. this guy is great.  Be sure to check him out when you get a chance. Well worth seeking out.  If you hurry you might still be able to catch a bit of his set tonight. He's currently doing a medley of Queen songs.  Nailed them all!  Serious talent here.

Justin Ashton

His profile indicates he's just a couple of months into SL but that's just since he's come back to SL  this time. He has a bit of a sexy Scottish accent when he speaks : )

His profile states: "Justin is a singer/songwriter from the south west coast of Scotland.  An accomplished performer in RL over the past 30+ years, and SL over the past 7 years, Justin's Piano and Acoustic Guitar sets are a spirited blend of Classic Rock & Pop, Folk and Ballads. Bookings: Please contact Justin directly"

Jagged Edge is a live music venue for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing setting with great music owned by Keileigh and Jorr Jarrman, owners of Whispering Sands Live Music.  They host many musicians and great live music shows.  Check it out here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Sunset%20Cove/128/128/12

...and a happy new year!

...and a happy new year!

Happy New Year to all of Second Life.  After all these years and hours together SL has become a part of my first life. This past year I went to my first SL music jam, meeting many SL residence in person. This somewhat restored a little faith in the reality of people. Sometimes it's hard to remember that everyone enjoys SL in their own ways, weather that be "role play", real, or pretending to play real but in a reality they've created that doesn't match their first life.  I enjoyed new bento mesh heads and various enhanced newness this year, I've met a lot of new friends, but also lost some special ones in their pursuit of more time and  a higher quality first life. I'd like to greatly thank Linden Labs and Second Life for making this amazing place where the only true limitation is the imagination. And I'd like to thank all the content creators, musicians, artists, venue owners, people who promote, social people to play with and everyone I've come across. Not 100% of my time has been the best, but I've learned something from even the disappointing experiences. The good outweighs the frustrations by far. Here's to wishing everyone a fantastic and adventurous 2018!
